How ShowFrog scores fit.
ShowFrog is built for adults choosing suspense, mystery, crime, thriller, legal, spy, noir, and related TV. The goal is not to rank shows by popularity. It is to make the tradeoffs visible before you start watching.
What we score
ShowFrog keeps violence/gore separate from stress because they are not the same viewing problem. A show can be psychologically tense without being graphic, or low-gore while still being emotionally heavy.
What we read
The catalog combines structured show data, availability signals, source descriptions, critic and viewer evidence, and ShowFrog extraction notes. Editors use that evidence to explain watch fit: tone, pressure, pacing, ending risk, comfort level, and tolerance caveats.
How category pages are curated
Category pages start with the reader's intent, then compare the visible shows against that promise. Scores and chips help with scanning, but the row copy should add an editorial reason to pick, skip, demote, or treat a title with caution.
What can change
Streaming availability, ending confidence, and evidence quality can change over time. ShowFrog treats category pages as living shortlists: rows can be moved, removed, or rewritten when better evidence appears.
